The State Wireless Association Program, or SWAP, was formed in an effort to foster a better understanding of the wireless industry on a state to state basis. Each state is encouraged to cultivate a strong local identity for their respective wireless industries through involvement in their community and developing a voice on local issues. Their goal is to develop a strong relationship with the community and to nurture the relationships among the members of the industry. Last year, Amedia Creative and the Wireless WorkForce teamed up with a few SWAP organizations to help them do just that.

Amedia developed the SWAP Community Platform exclusively to fit the specific needs of any state wireless association, with special attention to user involvement through the site. Upon joining, each member has the ability to create an account for free. The only information required is a first name, last name, and a valid e-mail address. Once an account is created, the user has access to all of the restricted areas including articles, commenting on articles, tagging articles, member topics, viewing and paying for events, and managing sponsorships.
