How many times have you typed keywords that are related to your products or services into Google and saw your competitor’s names instead of yours? Many business owners have heard of the successes that others have had using the Internet as a lead generation marketing tool. But some of us are not sure how to approach Internet marketing as an integral part of our business. We continually hear about social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. We know that companies promote themselves on sites like Twitter and on television and radio, but how do we know that this will work for us?
Let’s face it, Search Engine Optimization can be one giant Hemroid. I’m sure you’ve heard plenty of stories where your client’s web sites have dropped completely off the map, and back on again. The truth is, if anyone really “knew” Search Engine Optimization, well, there would be a lot of people out of business. Or maybe, SEO would not even be a business at all. Ever consider that?
At Amedia Creative, we are very experienced with SEO as a practice. Since Amedia Creative has decided to offer SEO as a service, we want you to know that we mean business. It’s called Search Engine Marketing. And We’re going to start by looking at it from a nerd’s point of view.
“Hrmmm see here ::snobby voice:: the URLs on this page have matching canonical URLs in the source code.”
“I can also see that the meta tags and title tags are properly setup.”
At this point, a nerd would say “yep, this looks perfect” and move on. But we aren’t nerds, and to think that optimizing keywords, alt tags, and URL’s, and trying to “trick” search engines into indexing your web site is going to do the trick, you’re wrong. What you’re doing, is creating an exotic sports car that is a bit short on passion.
The truth is, you need one key thing to maximize Search Engine Visibility. It’s Content. I am sure you’ve all heard of the phrase “content is king”. Well since the inception of the Internet, content is what we have all been looking for. It has stood the test of time, while many of us try to keep up with Google’s ever changing algorithms. Once we find out that content is all we need to achieve search engine visibility, we see many business owners get excited about participating in their website marketing with great results. The best way to get a return on your website investment is to create an asset out of your website. This is achieved by adding content to your website on a regular basis. This strategy is called “Content Marketing”. By adding content pages you increase your chances of ranking for “long tail” keyword phrases. These are phrases of 3 or more words that often result in highly focused and targeted search results.
So, what should you do? Get your ass on your blog and start writing. After you’ve built up some solid content, call us (310-651-8733), and we’ll help you ensure that content is indexed properly.
